Camp Kallaroo Activities

There are lots of great activities near Camp Kallaroo. There is of course, the world famous Burleigh Heads beach - only a short walk from Camp Kallaroo. But there are other activities nearby which will ensure you have a great camp.

Burleigh Heads National Park

The Burleigh Heads National Park covers most of the Burleigh Headlands. A hike through the headland forest is the perfect way to spend a morning. Take in the views north to Surfers Paradise and south to Pt Danger. Watch the surfers ride the famous waves. You may even see dolphins surfing as well! Walk around to Tallebudgera Creek and have a swim.

Learn To Surf

Become your own surf legend! Head to Godfathers Of The Ocean to learn how to surf.

Currumbin Creek

Head south to Currumbin Creek. Here you can hire stand up paddle boards and kayaks to explore the creek. The mangrove boardwalk allows you to explore the mangroves. Follow the track around to the Pirate Park. A perfect spot for Joeys to relax and discover their inner arrrrr!! Help the local landcare group clear the reserve of weeds.

Currumbin Wildlife Park

Visit Currumbin Wildlife Sanctuary to see a wide range of Australia animals. Hold a koala or entwine yourself with a snake! Gold Coast scouts celebrate World Scouting Day in this wonderful park. Take on the Green Challenge rope course which will have you swinging through the forest canopy.

Fleays Wildlife Park

David Fleay Wildlife Park is home to many native animals and plants,and ground-breaking research. Visitors to the park enjoy birds, including eagles, brolgas, jabiru, owls and cassowary, as well as crocodiles, kangaroos, koalas, tree kangaroos, snakes, lizards, gliders - even butterflies!

Gecko - Gold Coast and Hinterland Environmental Council

Gecko is the Gold Coast’s peak non-government not-for-profit environment group. Volunteers have been working to protect and enhance the natural environmental assets of our region since 1989. They run a variety of environmental programs throughout the year.
